Right click desktop and select <code>Desktop Settings</code>
As shown in the screenshot below, go to <code>Panels</code> -&gt; <code>Top Panel</code> -&gt; <code>Applets</code> then click the <code>+</code> next to Add applet .
Then choose the <code>Keyboard Layout</code> applet and click <code>Add applet</code>

Right click desktop and select `Desktop Settings`
